Academic Application and Registration Reminders
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) annually receives approximately 570 000 applications and during the January/February registration period, application and registration-related queries are at an all-time high. We wish to thank applicants and members of the public for their patience during this busy period.
It is important to note the following before contacting the institution:
- Applicants must track the status of their application via the CPUT website on the following link: Track Application Status
- Applicants should not report to campus until a final acceptance outcome has been received.
- Meeting the minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee access to programmes as the competition for space at Higher Education institutions is high.
- There is no guarantee that accepted applicants will be placed in residences due to limited spaces.
- All accepted first-year undergraduate applicants must register within 48 hours of being accepted as failure to do so will lead to the offer of acceptance being deferred to another applicant.
Status - Provisionally Accepted
Due to limited spaces, faculties are reviewing provisionally accepted applicants and accepting them accordingly in a batch system. Should any of these accepted applicants not register within the 48-hour window, the next batch of provisionally accepted applicants will be considered.
Status - Waiting List
Applicants with a waiting list status will only be considered should space become available and should therefore not consult the respective faculty office(s) or the respective department(s) on campus as they will receive feedback by Wednesday, 29 January 2026 in this regard.
Status - Programme Full
Faculties will not be reviewing these applications and encourage this cohort of applicants to apply in May 2026 for the 2026 Academic Year.
