Research writing
Writing in research requires certain styles, especially when referring to works written by other people. The following resources relate to research writing:

Editing
Prior to submission for examination, theses and dissertations must be free of various forms of errors. These works require to be edited for accuracy especially as they are placed for public scrutiny in the library.
The CPGS works with several respected editors and proof-readers. Please contact Mr. Stanley Lekata at lekatas@cput.ac.za for details about the editors and payment process.

Turnitin Originality Checking Platform
All written works (assignments, articles, dissertations and theses) must be checked for originality. For this purpose, we use an online platform called Turnitin, an academic plagiarism checker technology. All postgraduate students must be registered on the Turnitin platform at the time of writing the proposal, by their own supervisor. There are opportunities to attend Turnitin Training sessions, specifically aimed at supervisors of postgraduate students.
Supervisors of postgraduate students should attend the training to be registered on the platform. Supervisors must register their own students on the platform.
