Welcome to the Operations Management Department. We currently offer the National Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications. These qualifications are designed to equip students with skills to understand the key areas of management concerned with designing and controlling the production process and redesigning business operations in producing goods or services. It further involves the responsibility of ensuring that business operations are effective and efficient in terms of using as few resources as needed and meeting customer requirements.
Operations management's primary concern is planning, organizing, and supervising production, manufacturing, or the provision of services.
Operations management as a profession plays a major role in the effective, efficient and economical management of any organization. These organizations can range from large to individually owned businesses.
Career Opportunities
The Operations Management course offers national and international career opportunities for graduates. The variety of opportunities is virtually unlimited in this field. Graduates can choose from various entry-level positions, e.g. trainee managers or positions in buying, logistics, supply chain, etc. Qualifications in Operations Management form a base for further specialization in fields such as buying, banking, mining, manufacturing industries, and so forth.
Qualification is about: strategic and capacity management of any organization's operational processes, such as supply chain, production, and process flows, as well as overseeing efficient production and ensuring quality control.
