CPUT is ready to pull off one of the Mother City’s biggest career fairs – Open Day 2012.
The largest university in the Western Cape, CPUT offers more than 70 courses in Business, Engineering, Health and Wellness, Informatics and Design, Education and Applied Science.
From designing jewellery to building satellites or growing plants, prospective CPUT students are spoilt for choice.
To help prospective students make the right career choice, staff members and students from all departments will be at hand to give advice and share their thoughts on the high-quality and unique programmes on offer at the university.
Student Recruitment Officer, Grant Barends says although aimed at Grade 11 and 12 learners, the event is open to everyone interested in embarking on a study programme at CPUT.
Parents and guardians of prospective students are also encouraged to visit the fair and see what CPUT has to offer.
This year’s event will take place at the Major Sports Hall on the Cape Town campus from Thursday 17 May until Saturday 19 May. On Thursday and Friday interested parties can visit the Open Day from 9am till 4pm and on Saturday from 9am till 3pm.
Barends says they are expecting a huge turnout at this year’s event.
“Last year’s Open Day attracted close to 9 000 visitors. This year we are expecting our number of visitors to grow,” he says.
“We encourage learners and everyone else interested in studying to attend this informative and fun event,” he says.
