The CPUT community includes dedicated staff and students who regularly go above and beyond their duties to foster ongoing improvement for all. In recognition and celebration of this exceptional dedication, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chris Nhlapo is pleased to commend these remarkable individuals each year.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Service Excellence and Student Leadership Awards are established to recognise those who embody the true spirit of being proudly CPUT, actively contributing to positive change beyond their duties. These awards aim to highlight the exceptional achievements of outstanding staff and students across the following categories:
VC Award for Service Excellence delivered by Administrative and Support Staff
This award aims to acknowledge staff members for exceptional service in areas such as administrative tasks, maintenance services, ensuring the safety of staff, students, and CPUT buildings, providing student services, and enhancing the university's image.
VC Award for Student Excellence
This award is available to any registered CPUT student, on any of our campuses, who excels academically, displays leadership skills, and commits to community service.
Nominations for these two categories open on 01 September 2025, and the deadline for submission is 31 October 2025. The winner announcement will take place at an excellence award event scheduled to take place on 20 November 2025.
